Support Our Challenge for Anthony Nolan: Try For Ellis
We’re taking on a monumental challenge to support a cause that is incredibly personal to us. Our dear friend Ellis, a 27-year-old semi-professional rugby player for Old Redcliffians in Bristol, was unexpectedly diagnosed with acute leukaemia on January 28, 2024. What began as symptoms that felt like the flu quickly escalated into a life-altering diagnosis, shaking all of us who know and love him.
Ellis has always been a beacon of strength and positivity, both on and off the field. His resilience and dedication to rugby have inspired everyone around him. Now, as he battles this harsh illness, his courage and determination continue to shine, even in the face of such a daunting challenge.
To support Ellis and others like him, we’ve committed ourselves to two (... so far!) significant fundraising challenges. Dan will run the Bristol Half Marathon just six days before we take on the 100k Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge.
Anthony Nolan is at the forefront of this fight, working tirelessly to match patients with suitable stem cell donors. Their efforts are crucial for those like Ellis who are in desperate need of a life-saving transplant. By contributing to our fundraiser, you are directly supporting this essential work and helping to give Ellis a chance at a brighter future.
We have set up an Instagram page @KMVsBloodCancer to update on our training progress and keep everyone updated so please give that a follow and show us your support.
We know these challenges won't be easy, but with Ellis’s strength inspiring us and your support behind us, we are determined to see them through. Please donate whatever you can-it will make a world of difference to so many people like Ellis battling blood cancer
Thank you so much for your generosity and support.
